Are Demographics Important When Considering Brand Integration? By Ian McQueen

Is Pepperoni Pizza good without cheese? Do you need your headlights to drive your car at night? Can you play basketball without the ball? Yes, demographics are definitely important when considering brand integration and product placement.

The approach shouldn't be much different from traditional media and/or online advertising. Brand integration and product placement should be in synch with a company's overall advertising and branding initiatives.  When it is part of the overall plan, take it seriously and find properties that will help move the brand forward.

But what it there is a great fit in a potential blockbuster movie that may not be on target with my audience? Go for it! Those opportunities do not come around often, and you can use social media to leverage the integration, riding on the coattails of the films high profile while still reaching your core consumers.

Take the time to plan your brand integration program and success will follow!
